TCCSTFI History

Tagum City College of Science and Technology Foundation, Inc. (TCCSTFI), is a non-stock non-profit educational foundation with a mission to produce high qualified professionals equipped with necessary
knowledge, skills, and ethics for the global society.

TCCSTFI was founded on 2017 and operated under the name of Tagum City Institute of Technology (TCIT) located at the rented floors at New Pereyras Building, New Public Market, Tagum City. Despite of being new, the school has 172 students for the first year of operation and was considered a miracle.

In the span of five (5) years, the school moved its residence to a one-hectare lot along Gazmen Road, Tagum City, where seven hundred (700) square meter per floor of its four-storey building stands. This was owned to the tireless persistence, resilience and fortitude of spouses Deo Casintahan and Leodivica B. Casintahan, (incorporators and current members of the BOT), assisted by its able school officers, teachers
and staff—it has grown to become what is now known as TCCSTFI. Also in the same year, the school changed
its company name to Tagum City College of Science and Technology Foundation, Inc. (TCCSTFI).

The new building boasts of complete learning classrooms, laboratories, shops and facilities, such as: Food and Services Management Laboratory, Automotive Shop/Laboratory, Computer Laboratory, Automotive Shop/Laboratory, Internet Laboratory, Computer Hardware Management Laboratory, Audio- Visual/Dark Room, Library, and Student Lounge. It has also had a canteen and a Basketball Court New building, new facilities and a new powerhouse function accurately headed by Edward S. Aquino, PH. D. –
School President: Jose M. Baldonado Jr. Ed. D. – Vice President for Academics; and Eldon S. Gazmen, ME- CpE – Vice President for Administrative Affairs.

As an institution of higher learning, TCCSTFI caters to both College and Technical-Vocational Education, and has also started operating grade 7 and grade 8 classes in line with the transition of the education system to the new K+12 education program. It also has short-term special skills training in coordination with TESDA. Notably, it has just opened its four-year courses beginning school year 2012- 2013For the school year 2014-2015, TCCSTFI continues to grow with the opening of its Grade 9
program.

TCCSTFI is also known for being an accredited Assessment Center Office of TESDA with assessment services for Automotive NC I, Automotive NC II and FBS Assessments, Bookkeeping NC II, Motorcycle & Small Engine Repair NC II.

Still in its infancy, it may be gainsaid that the current rate growth of TCCSTFI is a positive indicator of more good that is yet to come. Considering the global need for skilled workforce, and particular focus on Science, Technology and communication – by reason of which the national education system was changed to address this global trend- TCCSTFI is more determined to better its service and make its mark as a formidable College of Science and Technology and center for world-class competitive
skills training.

With the school administration ever conscious of global competitiveness, instruction improvements, research, and community extension services and foremost, the welfare of its human resources, the school organizational structure was innovated. Thus, in the summer of 2014, a newadministration was established under the leadership of Deo S. Casintahan, MBA, as School President, working hand in hand with Dr. Warlita C. Canque, Ed.D as Executive Vice President for Academics. Under this administration, the school began to offer Grade 11 & 12 to the public and assisted students for the voucher scholarship.

Due to consistent growth of the school and to efficiently and effectively manage the business, a new administration was established on 2017 headed by Mr. Deo S. Casintahan, MBA, as School President, with Mrs. Leodivica B. Casintahan, MBA as Vice-President Operations. The spouses were
working hand in hand to attain the vision and mission of the school.

New buildings were constructed such as Science Laboratory (with two classrooms), School Chapel, Administration Building, and Senior High School Building (eight classrooms) during their administration. Furthermore, the gymnasium was partially renovated. As a result, the school can now cater the needs of both students and employees. The thrust of the new administration is to work in unity unfolded by God’s grace and blessing that will pave the way for the school to be in the ranks.
